Our drop in centre will be open to the public and community on the 2nd of September 2021 at 10am we will be opening each Thursday every week to start with and dependant on popularity and attendance numbers we will extend this to a Tuesday also.

Keep checking the website for further updates.

We are looking for 2 volunteers to start with to serve brews and welcome people in, chatting to make you feel at ease, if you can assist please direct message myself Al Mather or Steve Hague.

Our professional support resource for the 2nd September will be WHYSUP who cover a wide range of services ie Addiction, Bereavement etc.. and have many contacts throughout the full spectrum of issues people may experience, remember we will be there to help even if its just for a chat and a brew, pop in and see us all are welcome.

We cannot do this on our own there will be ex players popping in and hopefully many wanderers fans to help us grow and help our own.

This service will cost us a few £'s to keep going so any donations be it small or large would be gratefully received, please contact Steve Hague for further details.

We officially launched our drop in centre on the 31st of July and presented much needed funds to our deserved charites, heres a seletion of images from the day enjoy..

This season we are planning on running away day transport to games to raise money for the group the plan is to have selected ex players for chosen games and to have a breakfast stop (for long journeys) and a stop for a few beers on the way back if anyone is interested in this please leave your name in the comments so we can generate a list there will be a separate post for each game and a non-refundable deposit will be required for each game.
Refreshments allowed and toilets on transport.
For any questions please dm me or lol Catterall Thanks
All comments must be placed in Bolton Wanderers remembrance group and We Are The One And Only Wanderers on Facebook.

Today we invited on board a young man who is a superb fit for our role as a youth ambassador for our group.
Mr Marcus White works very hard for our group and has a heart of gold its also very fitting as Packy is his Grandad.
Welcome on board mate a brilliant addition.

The group as now got to the stage where we are inundated with requests for help and for family members to be inducted on our flags etc…..

It’s got to the point where my phone is ringing at 4am in the morning with people asking for help we as a group will always be here for our own and are proud and honoured to do so, we are now in partnership with professional people who can help with all kinds of areas be it depression, addictions, mental health bereavement, courses and once our drop in centre is open after the restrictions that will be another string to our bow.

What we have had to do is create an online form for people to contact us for any help they may need requests etc so please go to the following link and let us know what it is you require you all know what we do we promise a admin will get back to you asap please don’t ring unless it is between 9 am – 16.00.

Also the group needs donations be it joining our official membership scheme, doing sponsored events, memorabilia donations or just cash donations again you can do this by going to our web site as I have said what we do now is massive and the cost to run is growing daily.

Message of Sharon Brittan  Chairman Bwfc (April 2021)

Dear Al,

Thank you very much for your email which Paul Holliday forwarded to me.

I hope you and your family are keeping well.

Thank you very much for sharing the exciting news about the Drop-In Centre which the Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group will be opening soon.

I have to say that this is a wonderful idea and reflects the excellent work the Group does for the Bolton Family.

At this moment in time, I am unable to commit to any dates because of my involvement in other projects, but I will most certainly look forward to visiting the Drop-In centre at some point in the future to see at close hand how you are helping the community.

In the meantime, our Head of the Community Trust Phil Mason, would be honoured to represent the club and myself in officially opening the centre.

Also, thank you for your kind invite to your event on 25 September. Again, this is something I will have to get back to you about.

I am very grateful for the invitations and I wish you and the group all the very best.

Yours sincerely,

Sharon Brittan

Chairman, BWFC

Some great feedback from a fellow supporter :

Name: Mark Heys

Subject / Email Reason: Drop In

Message : Hi guys, Just want to wish you the very best of luck with your new venture at the Vulcan.

I think it is a superb idea In bringing everyone in the community together and I hope it will be a tremendous success. As someone who has needed mental health/support services and has been a season ticket holder at Bwfc for many years as well as an official club match day programme contributor for 14 years up until 2019, I am fully in support of combining community support and football and once lockdown is lifted it'll be great to meet a few fellow fans, especially as I'm in the process of moving down the road from the Vulcan.

All the best to you and keep up the fantastic work that you do. It is great to have the community feel back at Bwfc especially after the Ken Anderson fiasco. Hopefully we will celebrate promotion in a few weeks.

Best wishes Mark

Another unbelievable gesture of one of our own Mr Trevor "Sumo" Morgan has donated his match worn shirt from the sherpa final @ Wembley, These ex players of ours will never be matched, much love respect and thanks xx
